The TED (Technology, Education and Design) conference has released many of their lectures. I have listened to a few great ones. I will try to respond to this post with some specifics and how I might use them in the classroom. If you find one you like, post a summary and how you think you might use it. Thanks.

Dyson Air Blade

This is currently my favorite designed object.

OK, I used one of these the other day in a restroom in Oxford. Amazing. I generally think hand air dryers are useless. Besides not drying your hands they blow water all over the wall and floor. I love the idea of getting rid of all paper towels and the efforts of trekking them to landfills but I hate walking out of the bathroom with wet hands. My hands were bone dry by the time I went to open the bathroom door after using this thing. Anyway, it would be great to have these all over campus as a green initiative. It would certainly need more research but I wanted to pass on my experience. The website does a nice job of arguing its economic and environmental benefits.
